“Experimental Creations” is a project that focuses on material experimentations and creative processes. In creating objects, it is important to contemplate extra value such as colors and touch, along with the design of physical aesthetics and functionality. Moreover, the design capabilities expand in midst of creative processes involving innovative experimentations of materials, rather than during the design process of physical appearances using existing materials.

For Salone de Mobile 2017, we were working with six young talented Japanese designers in serving well-balanced delightful assortment of ideas to the audience. The participating designers are experimenting to find the most inventive way to exploit the material, in order to retain the perfect mixture of their creative abilities. There are six experiments focusing on material and process, including a challenge to create new materials using food waste and bounties of nature, an exploration of rust texture and color, experiments on electronic devices, CT scanners and 3D printers.
