Until now, ForestBank has been milled using a CNC machine; however, in this series, the material is cut by hand using a grinder. The act of carving while carefully observing the grain of the wood is far more physical, akin to sculpting a piece by hand.
The marks left by the blade are intentionally preserved. They are traces of the maker’s movement—evidence of the time spent shaping the work by hand.
