Rust Harvest|Window for P House

Rust Harvest|Window for P House

A window design for a renovated penthouse.
G ARCHITECTS STUDIO renovated the upper floors of a 40-year-old building near Tokyo tower into a two-story penthouse. There was an existing bay window on the south side of the top floor and STUDIO YUMAKANO designed a window using Rust Harvest for it.
In addition to the angle of the sunlight changing with the time and season, light coming in is diffused by the bay window, creating countless patterns of light. The light falling onto the floor through the Rust Harvest patterns and frame change the mood of the space like stained glass, and the window clearly expresses the shifting of light through the day.
The design was created with both form and function in mind, and the entire frame is mounted on a stainless steel slide rail, allowing for more light and ventilation when desired.
